Megan Carras, Founder
Megan Carras, PhD, is a seasoned non-profit fundraising leader with over 15 years of experience in fostering transformative change in non-profit management and philanthropy. As the Founder of Carras Capital Consulting, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help clients navigate the complex landscape of fundraising and sustainability. Dr. Carras holds a PhD in Geography and Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, an MA in Environmental Management from Harvard University, and a BA in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia. This extensive academic background provides her with a unique perspective on sustainable development and environmental policy, which she leverages to benefit her clients. Throughout her career, Megan has demonstrated proficiency in fundraising, strategic development, research, writing, data analysis, and persuasive communication across diverse audiences. She has consulted for a range of non-profits including Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), environmental, human services, arts and culture, education, and more.
Megan's passion for making an on-the-ground impact led her to transition from academia to the non-profit fundraising sector. She strongly believes in the power of the non-profit sector leading the conversation building equitable and sustainable communities, a philosophy that underpins the work of Carras Capital Consulting. With her extensive experience in both the academic and professional realms, Megan is uniquely positioned to lead Carras Capital Consulting in providing clear analysis and customized solutions to clients.
